I (Nancy) have enjoyed using the Progeny Press Study Guides for the Literature class that I taught at our homeschool co-op. I did not require the students to write an answer to every question, but utilized some of them for class discussion. It was a good way to begin requiring short essay answers preparing students for future work. I was pleased with the Christian worldview from which the study guides are written.

The actual books can be ordered together with each guide. This is part of the C.S. Lewis Space Trilogy along with Out of the Silent Planet and That Hideous Strength.
