This book was created to be used alongside the phonics book Learning Through Sounds (also by Pathway Publishers). This does not mean, however, that this book can not be used with other phonics programs. It will go well with any workbook.

With perhaps a few exceptions, every other page is a cut-and-paste exercise. This is for several reasons. First, children can not print neatly until they have developed good hand coordination. Learning to use scissors helps to develop this skill. Second, though a bit messy, cutting and pasting is a time-consuming and enjoyable pastime for this age.

There is no teacher’s manual for this book. Simple instructions are included on each page. Each lesson is designed so that the student can work independently without much help from the teacher.
