This program really worked for us (the Bjorkmans) after unsuccessfully trying more book oriented ones. Finally, a hands-on, kinesthetic program to teaching basic grammar and parts of speech. The student learns parts of speech and shows his understanding by placing color-coded cards on the table “diagramming” the sentence. As each part of speech is added, he progresses to workbook pages. Very little writing is required. This program could be implemented at almost any level and covers most of the basic grammar concepts including nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositional phrases, coordinating conjunctions, interjections, nouns of direct address, subjects, direct and indirect objects, and appositives. Note that punctuation is not covered. Additional practice is available in the supplemental workbook.
